Step-by-Step Instructions for Importing Presets

  1. Open Serum 2

Launch your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and load Serum 2 as a plugin on your desired track. Ensure you have the latest version installed to avoid any issues.

  2. Locate the Preset Menu

In Serum's interface, find the “Menu” button at the top right corner. It appears as a small icon or the word “Menu.”

  3. Open the Preset Browser

Click on the “Menu” button, then select “Show Presets Folder” or “Open Preset Folder.” This action will open the folder on your computer where presets are stored.

  4. Copy Presets to the Folder

Download or locate your preset files, which usually have extensions like .SerumPack or .SerumPreset. Drag and drop these files into the opened folder.

  5. Import Preset Pack

Under the Menu tab, click on Import Preset Pack. This step will install all wavetables, samples, and other necessary files.

  6. Refresh or Reload Serum 2

Return to Serum and click on the preset dropdown menu at the top. You can either click “Refresh” or “Rescan Folders on Disk.” This action will update your presets.

  7. Select Your Imported Preset

After rescanning, your imported presets should appear in the list. Simply click on the preset name to load it.

  8. Preset Selection

Your presets will now show up. Click on the preset browser (- Init -) then navigate to Packs > Vintage Soundset > Dream Machine Synthpop Vibes.

Additional Tips for Managing Your Presets

  • Folder Management

Keep your presets organized in dedicated folders for easy access. This practice will save you time when searching for specific sounds.

Always save a backup of your favorite presets externally. This precaution ensures that you won't lose your valuable sounds.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter problems while installing presets, it’s often due to not having the latest version of Serum 2. Always check for updates to ensure smooth functionality.
